Louis Jordan Birthday – Louis Jordan was born on July 8, 1908 in Brinkley, Arkansas, USA. His family was a musical one, and he learned to play the saxophone as a child.
He got his start in music by playing in various big bands in the 1930s, including the bands of Chick Webb and Benny Carter. In the 1940s, he formed his own band, the Tympany Five, which became known for its blend of jazz, blues, and R&B. Jordan’s witty lyrics and energetic stage presence, combined with the band’s infectious rhythms, made them one of the most popular and successful musical acts of the 1940s and early 1950s. Jordan died on February 4, 1975 at the age of 66.
