Born in New Orleans on September 11, 1967, Harry’s dad was the District Attorney of Parish of Orleans (includes city of New Orleans) and his mother who was a Louisiana Supreme Court Justice. They owned 2 record stores and were very involved in New Orleans music. After beginning on keyboards at the age of three, By age four, Harry Jr., showed signs of being a prodigy. Soon he was impersonating his heroes like Louis Armstrong, and studying under jazz master Ellis Marsalis. He first performed publicly at six and recorded with a local jazz band at ten.
He left New Orleans for the Big Apple at 18. Within a year he released his self-titled major label debut for Columbia Records. His second album, 20, introduced audiences to his magnificent voice, and there was no turning back Harry was on his way.
